About... me

So you're probably wondering who I am. Actually you probably aren't becuase you already know who I am, and you at least know my name already... anyway, I'm Benjamin Alexander, and I'm in my mid-twenties. I'm happily married to the wonderful Rebecca. I'm from Welsh and consider myself half-Welsh and half Scottish. I'm a conservative evangelical Christian, I attend St Ebbe's Church. I'm an Oxford Graduate, though I didn't do particularly well at university. I work in an office doing a job I actually quite enjoy (on the whole). I enjoy watching football, chiefly Coventry City FC, computers (programming & gaming) and eating lots of food. So, in summary, God loves me, my wife loves me, and I enjoy my job. Something's gotta go wrong sometime...

About... this website

History

I don't know how many times I've put websites up and they've died or undergone neglection prior to this one, but they all had something in common - I never paid for the right to host it. Now, I do, and as well as this being a more reliable and flexible way of doing things than storing it on my university's server or borrowing from my father, it will also hopefully motivate me to make the most of it since I am actually paying for it. I can remember at least 3 appearings and disappearings of my website, so I will arbitraily add one and call this version 5.

Current incarnation

This website is hosted by Just Host Me who have been good hosts thus far. Apart from using Blogger to write & store my blog posts, the entire site has been written using Notepad. There are so many better ways of doing it, but I started using notepad so I've continued. There is a certain satisfaction of looking at the final result and thinking "I did that without any help from any program" - you could compare that to the satisfaction of writing a letter by hand rather than via a keyboard.

I have tried to make all the code HTML 4.01 compliant. I also use PHP 4.
